Ditra Matting Recommended Adhesive

For timber substrates we recommend using ardex af200 plus uncoupling matting adhesive this is a purpose made high performance adhesive for fixing fleece backed uncoupling membranes.

Apply the bonding adhesive to the substrate using a 3 x 3 mm or 4 x 4 mm notched trowel. In general we don t recommend the use of modified thin set mortar to set tile over the membranes because these mortars must air dry to cure properly. Recommended by schluter for adhering schluter ditra mat to timber floors. Verify the compatibility of all materials prior to installation.

The substrate must be even and load bearing. To bond schluter ditra matting use a bonding adhesive that is appropriate for the substrate. The adhesive must bond to the substrate and mechanically anchor the fleece on the underside of the schlüter ditra 25 matting. Apply the adhesive using a 3 x 3 mm or 4 x 4 mm notched trowel.

Schluter ditra matting should be applied using a suitable matting adhesive such as ardex af200 plus matting adhesive with a 3mm or 4mm notched trowel. Made of polyethylene ditra and ditra xl serve as a waterproofing layer that protects moisture sensitive substrates such as plywood osb. The mat also acts as a waterproofing membrane to cope with any moisture that may occur on the underside of the substrate. To bond schlüter ditra 25 use a bonding adhesive that is appropriate for the substrate.

Ardex af 200 has excellent wet grab and an exceptionally long tack time with very good early and long term adhesive strength and is odourless when dry. It is also suitable for use with vario pro underfloor heating mat. Since ditra is impervious it does not deprive the mortar of its moisture. Schluter ditra and ditra xl are specifically designed for ceramic and stone tile installations ditra and ditra xl provide uncoupling to prevent cracked tile and grout.
